Friends and furries alike, we are all searching for communities where we can be accepted and embraced.Established in August of 2024, Furry Frenzy SATX was officially created to empower inclusion, safety, creativity, and everything in between to help advocate for our artist, makers, and community members!
Furry Frenzy SATX prides itself on inviting furries and friends alike to support local businesses inside of the city's malls, by attending their markets and mini-cons. Mall cons are the biggest staple of FFSATX events.

Furry Frenzy SATX is an inclusive social community based in San Antonio, Texas, and is always seeking new friends and communities in surrounding cities. This group is dedicated to providing a space where people can be themselves, whether it’s by wearing their fursuits, furry gear, or simply wanting to participate in the fun. Everyone is welcome to join. Furry Frenzy values self-expression, creativity, and social engagement. Our usual activities include fursuiting in public areas, showcasing our vibrant costumes and personas, and engaging with the broader San Antonio population to encourage curiosity, understanding, and a positive image of the furry community. We aim to create memorable and fun experiences for participants and the public, showing the city who we are with pride!

Hi there! I’m Kalani, a local San Antonio furry creator who loves all things fuzzy and fun! I dabble in many creative outlets, such as making content, drawing and sewing! Fursuiting is such a joy to me and so is crafting them, especially for those in my community which I love to create for. I aim to learn and grow with any project that comes my way!

Hey y’all, I’m Ali Pyro and I run Nerdy Dragon Den! I was born and raised in the SATX area, and I do everything from drawing furries and superheroes, intricate fursuits and cosplays, plushies, props, you name it! I live for my art, and I try to keep things fresh for my art, sprinkling influences from my Tejana roots and life experiences, to even the things I watch like Sci-Fi, horror, and fantasy. My favorite projects to work on are unique and experimental.

It's a great resource that updates in real-time and has all the information you'll need to know about any of our upcoming hangouts, meet-ups, and events!Note: Does not include impromptu events, but may include 'unofficial' events.
Key Terms:Hangout, meet-ups, events: All synonymous to each other! The connotation (the vibes) of each word can vary, in this order... Kinda spontaneous, kinda planned, and fully planned. But generally, they all refer to the same idea: An organized meeting with a predetermined location, time, date, and attendees.Impromptu: This means that a hangout was made fully spontaneously, with no planning other than "Hey, show up at this location at this time!" Usually happens the day before or day of.Unofficial: A meetup where there is no organized agenda, but it was planned in advance/with notice. This usually occurs with themed markets, shows, and other conventions happening throughout the city. There's a whole lot of them... all the time! Just show up, shop around, support the small businesses of SATX! And hang out with your besties too.

Hey there! I'm Amnesia. I created FFSATX back in the summer of 2024. I have a deep love for the markets and mini-cons held at malls across the city, so I decided I want to share this with my furry friends. Everyone deserves to have a safe space where we can all wear our fursuits and have a good time.I'm 21 yrs old, queer, an artist, and the parent of 3 lovely birds. I have two fursuits, which are Cordierite (monster-cat) and Kristal (protogen). Complimentary to operating FFSATX, I'm an apparel specialist. I order, design, and print custom + wholesale apparel. This page will address common questions asked by parents of children who may consider themselves furries.Furry Frenzy SATX prides itself on platforming its activities and events as fully family friendly. All ages are welcome to attend our official events.Some official partners' events may not be suitable for all ages. Please review the information of partnered events closely.
What is a Furry?
A furry is a fan of media that features animal characters doing “human” things (e.g., walking, talking). Examples of famous anthropomorphic animal characters include Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse. Media which feature such characters can be referred to as “furry” as well (e.g., “Zootopia is a furry movie.”)
What is the “furry fandom”?
The furry fandom refers collectively to the furry community—in the same way one would describe a community of science fiction fans as belonging to the “science fiction fandom.” Like other fan communities, furries talk about movies, art, or television online. Many cities around the world host furry conventions, which are major tourist attractions that bring together thousands of furries.
What is a fursona?
A fursona (furry + persona) is a character invented by a furry that is used as an avatar in the fandom for that person—that is, a way to represent themselves to others in the community. A fursona can be any animal species or a combination of multiple species and is not limited to real-world animals (e.g., gryphons, unicorns). Most fursonas are animals imbued with human characteristics, including the ability to walk and talk, wear human clothes, and have human personalities. Most fursonas tend to be fairly anthropomorphized (human-like), though some can appear closer in appearance to animals.
What is a “furry convention”?
Furry conventions, or “fur cons,” are public, organized events where furries gather. Like other fan conventions, panels and events at such conventions include cartoon voice actors, booths that sell merchandise, live music, dance contests, and group activities like scavenger hunts. Furry conventions usually have a charity fundraiser for local wildlife reserves or animal shelters, and furries are known to raise thousands of dollars for charities. Smaller furry gatherings are called “fur meets,” and might only have a dozen or so people, usually locals, attend. Most furries go to these events in regular clothes, though costumes and fan-related clothing (e.g., t-shirts) are also popular. Some furmeets might be organized in conjunction with business owners to permit fursuit wearing (e.g., with permission of the alley, furries might go bowling in fursuits).
